American Idol Bo Bice
Bo
Bice was born on November 1, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama. He first showed
off his talent to the public when he was nine years old, performing and
landing first place at a local school competition. His family often
relocated around the South and when Bo was 15, his stepfather took them to
England because of a job assignment. Bo studied at the London Central High
School, where he was often seen with a guitar and was a football player. He
also got the opportunity to perform with some alternative rock bands, but
when he was almost 18, he left school in order to return to his hometown in
Alabama. For one semester, he took classes at Calhoun Community College and
eventually earned his GED. He spent another semester at the University of
North Alabama, after which he went around the United States, performing in
many different nightclubs for several rock bands. When Bo auditioned for season 4 of American Idol in Atlanta, the judges clearly saw that he was different from the previous contestants they've had on the show. Nevertheless, they couldn't turn their backs on Bo's obvious talent and southern charm, and consequently, Bo became one of the oldest Finalists in the competition. His performances during the Finals, which include "Free Bird," "Stand By Me," "I Don't Want To Be," "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" and Vehicle," were enough to get him all the way up to the Top 2 with Carrie Underwood. However, when the results were revealed, it was Carrie who took home the title, making Bo the runner-up for season 4.
After his stint at American Idol, Bo signed a recording deal with RCA Records, and in 2005, came out with his rendition of "Inside Your Heaven." The single opened at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales Chart. Another song that was included in the single is Bo's version of "Vehicle." Just before the release of the single, Bo tied the knot with his girlfriend Caroline Fisher and a few months later, they welcomed their first baby boy, Aidan Michael, into the world. In December 2005, Bo came out with his first album, The Real Thing, and it entered the charts at #4. He is currently working with RCA Records, 19 Entertainment and Creative Arts Agency.
